Isaac's Nursery

I realized after a friend asked me about Isaac's nursery that I never did take pictures of the finished product. So, better late than never, here they are with a little detailed info to go along with it! As you walk in the door to his room.
Looking over towards his bed to the left.
Standing by his crib looking across the room.
His gorgeous little 6 month picture above his choo choo coat peg rack with a car that holds sunglasses, mittens and caps.
Two little quilt rack stars hold up the inspiration for his room, an airplane quilt. The theme is actually planes, trains and automobiles. However, at the time I never could find any car things. Shown is a Steiff bear from Opa and Oma that Isaac has loved alot. Another bear riding on a wooden train with two little buckets from Uncle Patrick and Auntie Natalia. I forget who got him the little brown bear. Below is the famous picture of Isaac in utero flipping us a bird. His little wooden Ikea train sits inbetween that frame and a pic of his little newborn foot. Then the bottom shelf is packed full of books. Almost all (99%) are hand me downs from his sister. Next to the shelf is a basket full of toys and books that he plays with on the floor.
My favorite 6 month picture above his reading lamp. On the table is a little blue bear from his G-mom (godmother) Tina which is wearing his hospital id tag that constantly fell off of his little arm. Next to that is his newborn photo in a little silver train frame also from Uncle Patrick and Auntie Natalia. Below is a stack of more books. Up on the other shelf holds his silver cup that was presented to him from the Vampire Team. Kara Borg presented me with a framed "Army Brat" poem which sits next to a cute little pair of knitted booties that I couldn't pass up. Oddly enough, Isaac never wore them. His new rocker that we had to purchase since we rocked the other one out of a couple of springs. A sweet little soft white knitted blanket sits on the headrest that Auntie Heather got for him. On the seat sits his bear that Uncle Rainer and Auntie Darian got for him. He loves that bear. The pillow was a lifesaver since it was perfect to wedge under my arm while I rocked him to sleep.
On the shelf above the blackout shade is a non-matching train set that I picked up at a yardsale. I couldn't believe my good fortune!
Next to the beloved diaper genie is Isaac's changing table that is topped off with a train set that his daddy purchased for him before he was born.
Inside the changing table it is bedecked with a robe, a diaper caddy full of goods, baskets of disposable and cloth diapers, diaper wipes, baskets full of onesies, burp rags a.k.a. blankies, bibs, jammies, changing pad protectors and lots of other misc junk that one thinks they need when they have babies!
Finally, the prince's sleep chamber. He loves his little airplane mobile. It will be a sad day when the mobile has to go. The sleep sheep is a must for every newborn parent.
Two sleep must haves is Isaac's puppy that Auntie Emily got for him and his "Isaac" taggie blankie from Auntie Shannon. He has to have these in each arm and snugged in with his airplane blankie before he can go to sleep. Oh yes, and paci must be in the mouth.
Lastly on the Isaac room tour is a toy tub center that we transformed from our recycling center in Germany to Isaac's dirty clothes and dirty cloth diaper bins. On top of that is the baby monitor and his hand me down ipod full of baby genius, baby einstein, zooey deschanel, shawn colvin and more. Baby Genius is a must have for naptime. It is all he listens too and he sleeps like a... baby. Zooey Deschanel's album She & Him gifted to me from his sister is another of his favorite albums that I listened to during the pregnancy. It instantly calms him when he's upset.
Thanks for touring Isaac's room with me. Special thanks to all the Aunties out there who helped build his room to be as special as it is. He loves his gifts, but mostly your love that accompanied them.
