Pre Labor Update & Fun Stuff from Aunt Anna and Dad

Well, folks, after many sleepless nights from the contractions which grew harder and closer together with each passing day, I went back to the doctor to see if I was dialated. I got to see my regular doctor. He agreed I was way too early to be going through these kind of contractions. I'm glad that he agreed with me. I have read too much on the issues Bethany has had while growing up and they all point back to being premature. The last thing I want is another 35 or 36 week old baby. I know some babies are born just fine and I know this little one has half his genes from a different dad, but facts are facts and I just don't want to go through all of that again. Period. I feel bad enough Bethany was born with so many issues and I don't want that to happen again. Anyhoo, the doctor seemed to think we could stave off the contractions until at least Jeff comes home. He gave me some meds to help the contractions and I am proud to report that it has worked some. I am still having the contractions, but they aren't as strong or close together. Every once in awhile I get one that takes my breath away, but pretty much they are at least bearable again. I actually slept for the very first time peacefully last night. It was bliss!

On a great note, I went to the mailroom and it was like Christmas. Aunt Anna sent Isaac one of the new Diaper Genie II Elites and a very cute Mickey Mouse onesie. I can't wait to see the little guy in that onesie. He's going to be sooooo cute.

We also got some packages from Dad while he's in the States. He sent Isaac a portable Boppy swing which will be great to take on the plane with us and for traveling. He also sent us a baby monitor and some Avent bottles. Bethany was mad though because she didn't get anything from him. "Not even a stuffed animal!" she says. She let him know he's in trouble on the phone tonight. She's so funny. Even at 16 years of age, she is still such a little girl inside. I love that about her. Oh, and by the way, she's not hurting too badly.....she has 3 Hollister polos on the way to her that I purchased for her for work.

Anyways, that is the news from the Schmidt house. We are still hoping the little guy decides to stay in there and wait for Dad to come home. Fingers crossed and lots of prayers going out to God.

Hugs to all,
Pam and Isaac

  1. Pam, I'm glad your doc helped you out with some meds that worked! Keep that baby cookin! Wow what a nice surprise at the mailroom! where is dad in the states? So sweet to hear that Bethany still wanted Daddy to send her something. Such a daddy's girl at heart, huh?
She'll be glad to get her polos, though.

It's fine that you let the girls on the board know whats going on. I meant to get on there...but havent had time to do that....or to return phone calls...or to return emails, etc! lol Maybe I'll have time to get on there bf baby wakes up!

  2. Hey Heather!

Yes, Dad was in the states, but somewhere over the Atlantic on his way home. Thank goodness. Yes, Bethany is quite the daddy's girl. She gets in a snit if he forgets her at all. When we went to the mailroom, she was like where's mine? It turned out he only went to a BRU, but she was like well he could have got me a stuffed animal. I looked at her and said, yeh like you need ANOTHER one of those. lol.

I'm glad you weren't upset. I didn't want to steal your thunder, but knew you were pretty tied up with the events going on with Katelyn and I knew they were dying for an update. Feel free to do the same for me! ;-)

So glad to hear that you guys are getting on a normal schedule. Give Madison time. I think she is just trying to find her place with all of this. Even Bethany has had these issues with trying to find out where she belongs now and wondering if her place has been taken....yes, even at 16! lol. I'm sure we will have more issues after Isaac arrives. I'm trying to spend as much time as possible with her, so that way she knows she is much loved!

Anyhoo, glad to hear from you!

    Hugs! pam
