Just a quick update of January happenings before I post the goods tomorrow.
The New Years was brought in with our next door neighbors and good friends, Lance and Dawn. We went over to their house and had lots of goodies. Unfortunately for me, there were quite a few goodies I couldn't partake in this year, but I still ate like crazy! We didn't last all night though. At about 10:30 we went home and just in time for everyone to start doing fireworks. Rocky kept us up whining and moaning till the early hours when it finally ceased. Any noise anymore drives him crazy. I don't know if it's because he's old or what. I think I finally got to sleep around 1:30 just in time for a 2am phone call from the East coast to let us know Bethie made it on her flight back home.
Which leads me to the next bit of news, Bethany arrived safe and sound at the Munich airport and none to happy to be back home. She wanted to stay and actually almost had that chance when she nearly missed her flight while having nachos with her uncle. I think she was actually begging him not to put her on the flight, but knew he'd be in big trouble if she missed it. She's pretty convincing though. The ride home was filled full of tales and then quite a few z's as our girl drifted off to sleep. After getting home she showed us all of her duds and whipped out a box of Krispy Kreme donuts for us to snack on. They were SOOOOOO good. A real donut! I love the german pastries, but sometimes I miss my donuts. More tales were told and more z's to be had.
Jeff and Bethany went back to work this last Monday. No one was ready for that. Jeff felt like he never really got his vacation time since it was mostly filled with work on the nursery and Bethany, well, she just wants to go back to Florida as soon as possible. Soon after both of them leaving Bethany decided to pull a sick and has been home the rest of the time. Deciding not to be outdone, Jeff is sick as well, however.....he still has to go to work!
All in all, life is getting back to normal. A weekly trip to the commissary was made. The cleaning lady showed up right on time to clean the mess we had made with Christmas and all the moving of furniture, boxes and other stuff. Life picked right back up and is moving on with the realization that our lives are about to be overturned once again in 2 1/2 months. The 2 1/2 months will be super busy with Jeff missing out on most of my 3rd trimester with field time and trips here and yon. Bethany is gearing up for semester finals and another bought with the SAT. And me? Well, here I sit and day by day I get bigger. Isaac moves more, kicks more, punches more and responds more. Lots of planning on what to purchase next for the him or his nursery. A baby shower just around the corner with my hopes that I get to see all my friends from all over Germany as well as right around here in our town. Life is exciting and very busy as all New Year's tend to be.
Happy New Years to all!
