Isaac's Baby Cadillac

We finally got the carseat for Isaac's buggy. We decided to go through the whole set up process so you could see how the whole thing works. After taking a couple of photos and seeing that it was kind of hard to tell what was going on. Lavendar the Bear stepped forward to model for us until it's owner arrives. Thanks Lavendar!

In the first and photo, we show how the carseat can come right from the car and attach right to the buggy, so as not to disturb Isaac while he is sleeping.

The carseat has a base that actually latches onto the seat of the car. If you flip up the little covers that are down near the seat you will see these silver metal loops that stick out. The base latches onto these providing no movement for the carseat and leaving the carseat seatbelt free. Another new innovation since the days Bethany was a baby!

In the second photo, Lavendar shows off how comfy the carseat is and how Isaac's head won't be bouncing around in the carseat with the nice fitted cushion provided. The carseat also has a very easy to use 5 point harness. You simply put both of the sides of the harness into the clasp and then pull the cord down below so that the baby is snugged into the seat with no wiggle room for him to squirm loose. The seat itself is made out of a soft twill material in a tan color which we thought would be cooler for the baby during the summer time and also match the interior of the Volvo. The plastic part of the seat is black which matches well not only with the BMW, but also Isaac's Caddy!

The third photo shows the bassinet attachment. If Isaac happens to be awake when we arrive at our destination or if we want to go strolling around the mall or the neighborhood, we can tuck him right into this nice comfy bassinet. The bassinet came with a stroller blanket to keep him nice and warm inside of his bassinet.

The fourth photo show it from the driver's point of view. As you can see there is a nice little cover that attaches over the bassinet part. Most of the german bassinets have these covers. You can also purchase a lambskin or a bundle to place inside the bassinet to keep the baby warm.

In the fifth photo, Lavendar shows off how comfy the inside of the bassinet is. The cover unsnaps and folds back for all of your changing needs or to get Isaac out at a moments notice. The inside of the bassinet is very soft and we think this should probably last him for several months until at least 3 or 4. It could possibly last longer depending on how cooperative he is about laying down.

The last photos show Lavendar modeling the regular stroller seat that will attach right on after Isaac outgrows the bassinet. The stroller has a handbrake that was Jeff's favorite feature so as to control the stroller more when we are walking on hills or running with him. Speaking of running the wheels are heavy duty and the front wheel swivels to make for a sharp turning radius when maneuvering through aisles or racks of clothing or even city streets. The basket has a drawstring netting over it to keep your items secure, so nothing will fall out. Also part of the stroller package they included a rain cover and a net to keep the bugs from chowing down on our boy. Isaac's Nan was thoughtful enough to send shopping hooks that will attach to the bars so we can hang our shopping bags onto the stroller.

All in all, we really love this stroller and the carseat. We worried a bit because we spent so much on it, but we figured we would be able to use this again for another baby in the future if that is God's plan for us. (Another reason that we chose neutral colors- in case the next baby is a girl!)

  1. WOW! What a conveyance! That looks like it is worth every penny you paid for it and then some. I like it.
