The Schmidt Family Journals: 5 Weeks Old

On Wednesday, April 22nd, little Isaac turned 5 weeks old. It is truly amazing how the time is just zinging away from us. Love this picture below where one of his new things is having a blankie. The blankie is really just a burp rag, but he holds on to it for dear life. He has two in the picture.

16th-Isaac slept in his cradle for 2 hours because mom kicked him out of bed for being a fussy cuss.

16th-Have been encouraged to lower the amount of formula and increase breastfeeding. It truly feels like I just started breastfeeding him again. I'm dying. lol.

16th-This week I watched as he tracked Jeff's face. Soooo cute!

16th-Lately, Isaac has been very good for dad at night and very fussy for mom. He goes through spurts of who he wants taking care of him. Last week it was all me.

17th-This week he slept 6 hours through the night in his cradle. He finally woke us up at 4am for a feeding. It kind of freaked us out that he went that long and the worse part is that we didn't notice. I guess that is what happens when all parties don't receive much sleep!

18th-Little man has been very fussy lately after we switched him up on a higher dose of his formula from the Pre to Stage 1 formula. We are now thinking it's too strong and this is what was causing the fussiness.

19th-After changing his formula, he now spits up whole bottles worth of formula and breastmilk. We are considering changing formulas once again.

19th-He seems to be growing out of the infant stage and turning into the babt stage. Does that make sense?

19th- Is seems to be more sociable now and more reactive to us.

20th-Isaac's hair tends to turn red in the sunlight. We are wondering if he is going to have reddish brown hair.

20th- Brought down the photo of Bethany, he looks sooo much like his sister.

21st-I am going on Reglan for milk production on Friday. Major Haskins also suggested goats milk for Isaac if the Reglan doesn't work for me. She also had me pick up some Fenugreek which I have now started taking which is also supposed to stim milk production. I have also picked up a Supplemental Nursing System which combined with the breastfeeding should stim milk production. Hopefully, something will stim the milk production!
