Happy Easter from The Schmidts

This Easter was filled with a new joy in sharing the holiday with our new son. It turned out to be one of the best Easters ever. Isaac had a fairly good night of sleeping which meant more rest for mom and dad. We all got dressed up and went to church. Afterwards, dad cooked steak out on the grill and we followed it up with baked potatoes, salad and a spring cake. It was yummy. We usually have baked ham and scalloped potatoes along with my grandmother's coconut angel food cake. This year we decided to skip from the norm and go with something different. Afterwards, the kids got to see what the Easter bunny brought them. Bethany holds her baby brother in anticipation of digging through her basket. As you can tell, Isaac was pretty excited too! Isaac decides to play Easter bunny in his basket. Too cute!Isaac shows off his new Easter bib to let everyone know that this is his first Easter. It was good to see that he knew exactly how to break it in immediately.Bethany was excited to see that Stephenie Meyer had out a new book. However, she was more excited to see this concert ticket in her basket. It was for her first concert ever. In the past, she has begged us (and I do mean beg, wheddle and plead...) to go to the concert. We have heard it all about how her friends have been, how we haven't understood, etc. I, however, am the hold out. I readily admit that I was scared to death to have my baby go off to a concert with a bunch of rowdy people. I could barely sleep a wink until she got home. She did relay that she had the time of her life and she can't wait to do it again. I am so happy that she had a great time, but ...again I think I can wait for her to do it again. lol. Yes, I know, forever the protective mother. I just can't help it! Not to be outdone, Isaac breaks his book out to for a little story time- one of his favorite times of the day.
All in all it was a wonderful holiday and we hope that all of our friends and family had a lovely holiday as well.
Take care and much love,
The Schmidts
